I watched the new Frankenstein movie recently — and it deeply moved me.
Frankenstein was a doctor obsessed with conquering death through science. He stitched together a man from the organs of the dead, determined to play God. But when his creation came to life, he despised what he saw.
The creature was helpless — like a newborn, learning everything from scratch. Instead of showing compassion, the doctor rejected him. He saw himself as the master: “Since I created you, I can love you if I wish… or destroy you if I wish.” Out of disappointment, he chained the creature away and even tried to burn him alive.
But the creature couldn’t die. He wandered the world, longing to be loved, yearning for someone to accept him. Yet everywhere he went, he was hated and feared. All he wanted was what Adam once had — a companion. When he begged his creator for one, the doctor refused.
As I watched, I couldn’t help but think about how different our true Creator is.
God is nothing like Victor Frankenstein.
He doesn’t reject us when we’re broken.
He doesn’t chain us when we fail.
He doesn’t destroy what He made.
Instead, He loves, forgives, and restores. When He saw Adam alone, He gave him Eve. When He saw humanity lost, He sent His Son.
We are His creation — but not His prisoners.
We are His children — deeply loved, even when imperfect.
I don't think this movie was meant to be spiritual, but for me, it was a powerful reminder:
Our Creator doesn’t abandon His creation. He redeems it.
With Love,
Navi
